Eddie Kingston Gives Honest Opinion On CM Punk

Eddie Kingston didn’t mince words when giving his thoughts on CM Punk.

Ahead of the September 2nd episode of AEW Collision, Tony Khan announced that CM Punk had been released from his contract following an investigation into his altercation with Jack Perry at All In.

Punk was a divisive presence backstage in AEW, having previously gotten into an altercation with The Elite at the 2022 edition of All Out. He also had supporters in the company, such as FTR’s Dax Harwood, who has been vocal about their friendship.

“I Don’t Wish Him Bad But I Don’t Wish Him Good Either” – Eddie Kingston On CM Punk

Following Punk being fired from AEW, many were quick to point to a 2021 promo from Eddie Kingston in which Kingston said that no one wanted Punk in the locker room. Speaking in a new interview with Adrian Hernandez, Kingston was asked if it bothered him that people brought up that promo, and he said he wasn’t as he was simply doing his job at the time.

“I’m doing my job, then. That’s how I felt. You know what I mean? I didn’t know what anyone else in the locker room felt; I didn’t care is how I felt. I didn’t want him there.”

Continuing, Kingston admitted that he wishes things had gone differently between Punk and AEW as his presence helped the company despite the two men not getting along.

“You know, I mean, me and Punk don’t like each other. And that’s fine. You’re not gonna like everybody you work with, you know? I mean, do I wish he was still in AEW and I wish it worked out differently. Yeah, because he helped the company. But other than that, I don’t give a f*ck what he does. You know what I mean? Because me and him never got along anyway.

“You know. I don’t wish him bad but I don’t wish him good either. I don’t give a f*ck.”
