Jim Cornette Blasts AEW’s Booking Of The Hardy Boyz

The Hardy Boyz AEW entrance

Following his social media spat with Matt Hardy, Jim Cornette has turned his attention to the booking the Hardy Boyz have received in All Elite Wrestling.

Matt Hardy signed with AEW back in 2020, bringing his ‘Broken’ and later ‘Big Money Matt’ characters to the company as well as forming the Hardy Family Office with Private Party and The Butcher & The Blade.

Things changed in 2022 when Andrade El Idolo led the group against Hardy and attacked him on the March 9th edition of Dynamite. However, Jeff Hardy made his debut the same night, making the save for his brother.

Since then, the reunited Hardy Boyz have been involved in feuds with the Andrade Family Office, The Elite, and The Firm. In June 2022, Jeff Hardy was suspended after being arrested for a DUI.

He eventually made his return in April, and the pair resumed their rivalry with The Firm which seemingly ended with the ‘Firm Deletion’ cinematic match on the May 3rd edition of Rampage.

“We’ve never said the Hardy Boyz aren’t a draw” – Jim Cornette

On the latest edition of his Drive-Thru podcast, Cornette addressed his social media dispute with Matt Hardy before criticising the booking he and Jeff have been involved in since they got back together.

According to the legendary manager, AEW has been unable to “figure out” how to handle the reunion of the veteran tag team.

“Let’s be fair, the way he’s been booked also, which may or may not be his fault or he may or may not have contributed to.”

“That up in the air. Tony’s also probably had a big hand in that, but how many times have they damaged his brain and couldn’t figure out how to put the Hardy Boyz back together?

He went on to say that he’s never said they aren’t a draw, but claims they aren’t right now due to their booking.

“This is the thing, we’ve never said the Hardy Boyz aren’t a draw. We’ve said they aren’t a draw now because of the way they’ve been put back together.”
