Jeff Hardy is determined to rise to the top of the AEW tag division and create electrifying moments on Dynamite.
After being absent from television for several months, Jeff Hardy made his return in April following an indefinite suspension due to a DUI arrest in June 2022.
In an interview with MuscleManMaclom, Hardy spoke about topics such as meeting fans and his feud with brother Matt Hardy in WWE. Hardy was also asked about his opinion about working on Rampage. Hardy said:
It’s a constant battle for me to elevate myself back to the Dynamite show. Hopefully, eventually. [Rampage] is kind of the B Show, but you just go out there and give the people what they want and get their money’s worth.
Since his return, Hardy has been teaming with his brother Matt on Rampage and Dynamite, aiming to regain his momentum in the tag team division. Hardy had this to say on the matter:
Naturally, the ultimate goal is for myself and Matt is the AEW World Tag Team Championships. We were so close before I got myself in a hell of a mess that I got myself into, but now that I’m coming out of that, it’s within reach.
Unfortunately, his previous plans to challenge for the Tag Team Championships were derailed when he was arrested just days before the scheduled ladder match against The Young Bucks and Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus on the June 15th, 2022 episode of Dynamite.
Why Was Jeff Hardy Suspended From AEW?
Jeff Hardy was arrested in April 2022, after he was found driving with a suspended licence and felony DUI. Following his arrest Hardy was suspended without pay from AEW and was required to complete treatment for his substance issues.
Hardy’s past struggles with DUI arrests have been a cause for concern. This recent arrest marked the third time he had been charged with driving under the influence in the past decade. In 2019, Hardy faced similar charges, highlighting the ongoing battle he has faced off-screen.
