Raquel Rodriguez recently shared her thoughts on the influential legacy of Chyna, drawing comparisons between herself and the late wrestling icon.
Known for her physical prowess and fearlessness in competing against men, Chyna was hailed as the Ninth Wonder of the World during her time in WWE‘s Attitude Era.
In an interview with Jessica Kleinschmidt on Short and to the Point, Rodriguez expressed her admiration for Chyna’s groundbreaking accomplishments. She highlighted Chyna’s ability to engage in feuds with male wrestlers, which solidified the notion that women can hold their own in a male-dominated industry.
It was inspiring, it really was, because she had so many feuds with men as well. For me, she solidified that idea of ‘we can hang with the boys too.
Growing up, Rodriguez drew inspiration from Chyna’s example as she competed against boys in basketball, an experience that shaped her belief in her own abilities.
When I was watching her growing up, I was always playing basketball, and I would go and play against the boys. I think that’s helped me invaluably as well because it’s helped me up my level in everything.
Rodriguez also emphasised the invaluable learning opportunities she has had at the WWE Performance Center, particularly in training with male wrestlers such as Scotty 2 Hotty. Being able to absorb their experience and knowledge has greatly contributed to her growth and development as a wrestler. She expressed a desire to one day pass on this wealth of information to others, recognizing its significance in her own career.
Even at the Performance Center, getting to be in a male class like Scotty 2 Hotty’s and getting to soak in all of his experience and knowledge and working with other young men who have years of experience over me and have so much knowledge, it was invaluable information and such amazing learning that I wish I could one day give to someone else.

Raquel Rodriguez has not won the WWE Women’s Championship. However, Raquel Rodriguez has held the NXT Women’s Championship and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship three times.
Recently, Rodriguez faced Rhea Ripley in a highly anticipated match for the WWE Women’s World Championship at Payback. Unfortunately for Rodriguez, she was unsuccessful in her attempt to win the title.
