Why Did Rhea Ripley Miss WWE Raw?

Rhea Ripley missed Raw after being “injured” by Nia Jax.

The September 11th episode of Raw went off the air in chaos following the surprise return of Nia Jax. The former Raw Women’s Champion arrived during the Women’s World Title Match between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez — wasting little time in making her presence felt.

Jax attacked both women and made sure to leave Ripley laying after the bell.

On the following episode of the show, it was announced that Ripley was missing due to the beatdown at the hands of Jax. However, according to a report from Fightful Select, Ripley was back home in Australia enjoying some planned time off.

When Did Rhea Ripley Win The Women’s World Championship?

Rhea Ripley won the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 39 with a win over Charlotte Flair. At the time the title was known as the SmackDown Women’s Championship, before being rebranded in June.

The victory over Flair gave Ripley a unique place in WWE history as she became the first woman to hold the NXT UK, NXT, Raw, and SmackDown Women’s Titles. Given the closure of NXT UK, the record will likely never be matched.

Since becoming champion, Ripley has defended the title against Zelina Vega, Natalya, and Raquel Rodriguez.

As of September 20th, Ripley’s reign stands at 172 days.
