Jim Ross Reunites With Jerry Lawler In Memphis [PHOTO]

Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler calling the action.

Jim Ross has shared a photo of his reunion with Jerry Lawler whilst the two were both in Memphis this weekend.

Good Ol’ JR and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler are considered by many to be one of the greatest announce team duos in professional wrestling history. However, it’s been quite some time since the two have been able to work with each other – last commentating together at The Manhattan Center during Raw 25 almost six years ago.

In recent years, Ross has maintained his role as one of AEW‘s lead announcers whilst Lawler has taken a backseat from his WWE duties due to health issues. Back in February, Jerry Lawler suffered a stroke but is thankfully on the road to recovery – having since made an off-air appearance on Raw.

This weekend, Ross was in Lawler’s hometown of Memphis, Tennessee with AEW as both Collision and Battle Of The Belts VIII took place at the FedEx Forum. Prior to the event, Ross shared a photo of himself and Lawler reuniting over breakfast on his Facebook page.

Jim Ross Is Reportedly Working For AEW Without An Active Contract

Earlier this month, it was reported that Jim Ross’ AEW contract had expired in September.

Dave Meltzer reported the news in the October 9th 2023 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting that Ross and AEW are still actively negotiating a new deal. It doesn’t look like Good Ol’ JR will be leaving Tony Khan’s promotion, however, as he has reiterated how happy he is working for AEW on his Grilling JR podcast several times.
