Eric Bischoff Reveals What He Thinks Of Logan Paul's WWE Run

Eric Bischoff is a big fan of what Logan Paul has done for the wrestling business.

Ever since Paul made his way into WWE he has been the target of criticism. Hardcore fans have blasted Paul for using his fame to get ahead on the card or taking someone else’s spot. However, according to Bischoff, Paul has been great for making wrestling more mainstream.

Speaking on 83 Weeks, Bischoff compared the arrival of Paul in WWE to that of music megastar Bad Bunny, stating that while some purists will disagree with celebrity integration, their inclusion is a net positive:

“You can’t [deny his success]. And my advice to the hardcore wrestling audience who may take offence to what you just said is to pull your head out of your ass. You know, Logan Paul is great for the wrestling industry. Logan Paul has brought in mainstream viewers who might not otherwise be bothered to check out WWE or professional wrestling in general. And to not appreciate that, or give Logan credit for what he’s doing isn’t a sign of your undying loyalty and devotion to professional wrestling.

It’s a manifestation of ignorance, and not understanding how important it is that people like Logan Paul and Bad Bunny come to the world of professional wrestling, and have a positive impact on it. As opposed to some of the people who are in professional wrestling and have been for a long time who have a negative impact on it. Or the sh*t stains that write about professional wrestling and have a negative impact on it. So before you people get up in arms and react emotionally because they feel like they’re in that class of professional wrestling loyalty loyalists. A lot of nonsense that comes with it.

The Hall of Famer continued, revealing how much he admires Logan Paul’s in-ring work:

Just recognise that what’s good for professional wrestling in general, what’s good for WWE, what’s good for AEW is good for the wrestling business. And conversely, what’s bad for business, the professional wrestling business, hurts everybody. So I applaud, I’ve never met Logan, Paul. But I admire him I respect him. And I think his ability in the ring beyond all of the additional eyeballs he brings to professional wrestling and helping it to not only maintain credibility in the mainstream media but expand upon it.

I just have nothing but respect for the man and athletically in terms of what he’s capable of doing and the ring. Given the short amount of time that he’s probably been working at it is nothing short of phenomenal, even if he didn’t bring all those eyeballs and all that mainstream interest into what we all love. Professional wrestling.”

Eric Bischoff Highly Respects Logan Paul

The YouTube star has been absent from TV for a number of weeks as he was training for a boxing match against Dillon Dannis. Following a decisive victory over Danis, Logan Paul laid down the challenge to United States Champion Rey Mysterio.

In a new episode, Eric Bischoff revealed his thoughts on stars working in major promotions working independent shows.
