Von Erich Family

There’s more information on the upcoming Von Erich film, The Iron Claw.

Variety revealed a new promotional image for the film and gave readers an update on when the movie will hit theaters, noting that it will run nationwide on December 22.

The Iron Claw stars Zac Efron as Kevin Von Erich in the title role, but also features Jeremy Allen White who is currently finding huge success in the FX series, The Bear. It also features Holt McCallany as Fritz Von Erich, Harris Dickinson as David Von Erich and Aaron Dean Eisenberg as The Nature Boy Ric Flair. Variety describes the film as follows:

Sean Durkin (“Martha Marcy May Marlene”) wrote and directed “The Iron Claw,”which tells the tragic, true story of the Von Erich family, a dynasty of professional wrestlers who made history in the intensely competitive sport in the early 1980s. The brothers had to battle inside the ring, but outside they were plagued with a series of tragedies that became known as the “Von Erich curse.”

Some Name Wrestlers Are Also In The Iron Claw

While “The Iron Claw” has received Kevin Von Erich’s endorsement, it also will feature several wrestlers that fans are familiar with. Ryan Nemeth and Chavo Guerrero Jr. are both involved in the film, but so is the AEW World Champion, MJF. The Salt Of The Earth is portraying the faux Von Erich, Lance.

Thankfully for fans, the film has hit post-production so like a great deal of Hollywood, it won’t be pinned down by the ongoing actors and writers strike.
