Actor Playing Ric Flair In ‘The Iron Claw’ Revealed

Ric Flair

Back in June it was announced that a new biopic on the tragic story of the Von Erich family was in the works. It was later announced that Zac Efron would be taking on the role of Kevin Von Erich. As work on the project continues, the name of the actor set to play Ric Flair has been confirmed.

The identity of the actor was first reported by Deadline, who also noted that Ric Flair will only be a cameo character in the movie.

Aaron Dean Eisenberg To Play Ric Flair

It has been announced that Aaron Dean Eisenberg will be playing the wrestling legend. In real-life Flair famously defeated Kerry Von Erich to win the NWA World Championship back in 1984.

Eisenberg is probably best known for his recurring role on “The Deuce,” where he plays a failed actor who turned to pornography. It was recently reported that MJF will also be involved in the movie playing the role of Kevin Vaugh who was unsuccessfully passed off as cousin Lance Von Erich.

“Iron Claw” will depict the sad story of the famed Von Erich family. Famously, Kerry, Mike, and Chris Von Erich all tragically took their own lives following the sudden passing of David Von Erich. Fritz Von Erich, who passed away from brain and lung cancer, was the promoter of the acclaimed World Class Championship Wrestling organisation.

Kevin Von Erich is the last surviving son of Fritz and was on hand to accept the family’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2009. His sons, Ross and Marshall, have continued the Von Erich legacy, having competed for Major League Wrestling and won their World Tag Team Championships.

Ric Flair is set to be the subject of a new documentary from WWE and Peacock looking back on his life and career. Although there currently isn’t a release date for the picture, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer has been busy touting it’s success in recent weeks.
