Latest Update On WWE’s Attempts To Sign Brian Pillman Jr

Brian Pillman Jr. Leaves AEW

Brian Pillman Jr. is yet to make his WWE debut.

Pillman Jr’s name has hit the headlines on multiple occasions in the past few weeks, being heavily rumoured as the latest name to not re-sign his contract with AEW and instead make the jump to WWE.

Rumours circulated that following the former AEW star being seen at the Performace Center in Orlando, NXT viewers should expect to see the newest roster member show up on the August 8th episode. However, a surprise debut did not occur and the reason why has been revealed.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it appears that Pillman Jr. is not actually a member of the roster yet. Those in the company have stated that currently the former Varsity Blond has not currently signed a contract, and there are no creative plans in place. However, Pillman Jr. is currently undergoing medicals and it is very likely that he will be signed unless something serious is discovered in the examinations.

Despite there being nothing official between either party yet, it is still widely believed that the debut will be a case of when and not if.

Pillman Jr. last wrestled a televised match for All Elite Wrestling on the February 3rd broadcast of Rampage.

Brian Pillman Jr AEW Departure Confirmed & WWE Signing Expected

The news of the departure was first broken by PWInsider, with neither Pillman Jr. nor AEW choosing to make a statement on the matter. AEW Announcer Jim Ross did provide his thoughts on the departure when asked on his Grilling JR podcast, with Ross admitting that “It wasn’t working” for Pillman Jr. in the company.
