Mustafa Ali “No Longer Working With WWE”

Mustafa Ali is no longer working with WWE.

In a shock announcement, Mustafa Ali has revealed he’s left WWE. The former Raw star posted the following statement on social media.

I am no longer working with WWE. I look forward to the future. Thank you, -Adeel

The news has shocked fans given that Ali was advertised for a match at NXT No Mercy for the North American Title. Ali was due to take on Dominik Mysterio for the gold. Shawn Michaels spoke about the sudden change on the NXT media call, noting that he will miss working with Ali.

Mustafa Ali Tried To Leave In 2022

In early 2022, Mustafa Ali went public with his desire to leave WWE. The star wrote that he had a much bigger message to deliver than wrestling, and he felt unable to do that while working for WWE.

It was reported at the time that Ali had a “heated argument” with Vince McMahon.

Despite this Ali came back into the fold, but again found himself wrapped up in a cycle of stop-start pushes and never really progressed from the lower-mid-card.

This eventually led the star to head to NXT in May 2023, and he’s remained in and around the North American Title picture. He wrestled his most recent match on the September 5th episode of NXT when he defeated Dragon Lee thanks to special guest referee Dominik Mysterio — although he didn’t seem too happy about it.
