Logan Paul’s Boxing Return Includes Bizarre Stipulation

Logan Paul Struggled With Being Booed In WWE -

Naturally, Logan Paul’s return to boxing will be slightly unusual.

On August 9th it was announced that Paul will stepping back into a boxing ring during his latest break from WWE. The YouTube star will take on Dillon Danis in Manchester, England on October 14th.

The fight will be Paul’s first action in a boxing ring since taking part in an eight-round exhibition against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in June 2021. His most recent match under professional rules came in November 2019.

During his career, Danis has developed something of a reputation for pulling out of fights, but Paul’s camp believes they have a plan to combat it. Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Paul got Danis to sign a clause stating that he must pay $100,000 if he pulls out of the fight due to a “fake injury.”

Should a problem arise, Paul’s doctor will be the only person who can decide whether or not the injury is legitimate.

“Paul did make him sign in the contract that he would have to pay Paul $100,000 if Danis pulls out of the fight due to a fake injury, and that it would be Paul’s doctor who would determine if he was faking the injury or not. The thing is, every fighter can find themselves a legit injury if they are doing hard training.”

Shortly after the fight was confirmed, Logan Paul took a pop at Conor McGregor, telling him that he’s next.

What Does This Mean For Logan Paul In WWE?

Logan Paul last wrestled in WWE at SummerSlam where he overcame Ricochet at the event in Detroit. While Paul will now take a break from the ring, he’s often spoken about his desire to compete in multiple disciplines so his boxing return won’t affect his WWE deal. Paul only signed a new multi-year deal with the company in April.

While Paul will now take a break from WWE, he could potentially squeeze in a couple more appearances in 2023. The star will be available to feature at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 4th — although this is unlikely — and at Survivor Series on November 25th.
