“You Must Keep This A Secret”: How Chris Jericho Created A Wholesome AEW Moment

Chris Jericho makes AEW entrance

Fuego Del Sol opened up about how Chris Jericho was instrumental in making his AEW signing a special moment to remember.

While the luchador is no longer All Elite, he looks back fondly on much of his time with the company. Fuego Del Sol was signed to AEW on the first episode of Rampage, being welcomed to the company by longtime friend Sammy Guevara. Speaking in a new video on his YouTube channel, he explained how Jericho made the moment even more special.

“Oh man, do I have some stories about this guy. We are talking about Le Champion, The Ocho, Chris Jericho. Let me tell you a story about Chris.

“The night before I got signed I was in a production call with the production crew. I was told that he emphasised that none of the crew should tell me that I was gonna get signed the next day. They already decided that they were gonna give me a contract on the first episode of Rampage. On the phone call he emphasizes, no one should tell this guy. If we want to get a genuine moment we want to get a big reaction out of Fuego Del Sol. You must, must, keep this a secret.

“One of the GOATS of all time” – Fuego Del Sol on Chris Jericho

Continuing, Fuego made it clear that he doesn’t believe he ever would have been signed to All Elite Wrestling without Jericho’s stamp of approval.

Then afterwards he spoke to me and told me how much I earned it. Without his approval, his stamp of approval I don’t think I would be in AEW. He saw the reactions I was getting. He always made time for me, if at any point he felt like I needed to run some idea by him and get some advice he was always there. It is crazy just to see the longevity of this man and how good he still is in the ring today, how he comes up with ideas and how he reinvents himself and comes up with ideas to keep relevant.

One of the GOATS of all time, big shout out to Chris Jericho.

Fuego Del Sol didn’t have such kind words for MJF, however, as he explained elsewhere in the video why he isn’t a fan of the current AEW World Champion.

Chris Jericho remains one of the biggest stars in AEW and has recently commented on how the promotion has beat all the odds.
