Triple H continues to make his presence felt on weekly WWE TV.
Many fans have noted that the product has been significantly altered recently with matches being longer and certain Superstars getting a lot more screen time than they did a few months ago. The change in presentation has been credited to the fact that Vince McMahon has been removed from the creative process and virtually all storylines are being handled by Triple H.
As reported by Fightful Select, the presentation of weekly TV, in particular Raw, is set to continue. It is also noted that the changes were made “overnight” following the backstage shakeup.
With the Monday night show being an hour longer than SmackDown, Raw has frequently been regarded as the show more focused on storylines and promo segments while SmackDown has long been the home for the better in-ring action. Fightful Select goes on to note that particular matches have been booked to highlight the in-ring quality of Raw, with Gunther vs. Bronson Reed being noted as an example of this.
Vince McMahon was said to have made frequent changes remotely with the exception of the “creative disaster” that was the Raw after Mania, which saw the Chairman make changes in person. When McMahon learned of the creative for the upcoming episode of Raw it is said that he made changes the weekend prior, removing those he did not want to see on the show.
In regards to McMahon’s comments back in April about not wanting to be “in the weeds” of the company, one writer responded with the following:
“Well, I guess he wasn’t lying when he said he wasn’t in the weeds, but in a way, he just sprayed roundup on the weeds and checked in on them every so often.”
Will The Triple H Changes Continue?
With McMahon now out of creative following the merger with Endeavor, there is no one to oppose any creative changes that the former World Champion wishes to implement. Until further notice, Triple H will be the one making the key decisions within the company.
