John Cena Apologized To The Rock During SmackDown Reunion

John Cena

John Cena said it was “really nice to see a friend” in The Rock last month on WWE SmackDown.

Both Cena and The Rock returned to WWE in recent times and while John Cena is taking a more extended stay, it was a pleasant surprise for everyone to see The Rock show up on the September 15 episode of SmackDown. The two got to hug it out backstage in a special segment, but Cena revealed on Wednesday’s episode of The Bump how great it was to cross paths with The People’s Champion once again.

Cena and The Rock notoriously had a classic, yet bit of a contentious rivarly as the two feuded in 2011 through 2013 and looking back on it, Cena expressed some regret at how he handled himself back then.

“In between the times we’ve spent with one another, I’ve openly come to a realization that the first foray into us competing against each other probably was a professional mistake on my part. I’ve been very apologetic and open with my apology, the way I conducted business was in the realm of trying to do good business.

“We did great business, and it was really nice to see a friend. He’s actually very generous with his time, we actually conversed a little bit. That was the first time we’ve seen each other since publicly apologizing for that and I just want to make sure he heard it from me face to face as well. It was really nice to see a friend.”

John Cena Is All Set For WWE Fastlane

John Cena has been a steady presence on WWE SmackDown for weeks and now he’ll be partaking in the festivities at WWE Fastlane as he tags up with the ever-popular LA Knight to face Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in tag action.
