Asuka has brought Bianca Belair’s incredible run as Raw Women’s Champion to a stunning end!
Going into Night of Champions Bianca Belair had held the Raw Women’s Championship since defeating Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38. This meant that her title reign stood at a remarkable 420 days.
After narrowly defeating Asuka at WrestleMania, at Night of Champions, Belair’s luck finally ran out.
The champion gave her best, but she wasn’t able to establish control for any real length of time. Despite this it appeared that Belair was going to get the better of her opponent after she ducked the mist, seemingly putting her back in control. However, the Japanese star had another plan. With Belair down, Asuka spat more mist onto her hand and her taped fingers.
Although Belair hoisted her up for the KOD, the Empress of Tomorrow rubbed the mist into Belair’s eyes and delivered a series of vicious kicks to claim the win.
Asuka Finds Success After WWE Reinvention
Prior to going on hiatus after the 2022 Survivor Series, Asuka was seemingly lacking direction and her career was stumbling. The star remained a fixture on television, but many fans believed that she had lost much of the aura that made her so special when she arrived in NXT in 2015.
However, that all changed at the 2023 Royal Rumble. The once-dominant champion returned with a new face mask and face paint, more reminiscent of her Kana character in Japan.
Since the star has returned to action she has been back to her fearsome best and narrowly missed out on the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania. However, on May 27th in Saudi Arabia, she was not to be denied.
In recent news, WWE released a top ten video featuring the most disrespectful moves, which Asuka’s mist appeared on.
