NFL Star Stefon Diggs Fined $13,659 Following Steve Austin Inspired Celebration

Steve Austin

The NFL did not give Stefon Diggs a Hell Yeah for his tribute to Steve Austin.

The Buffalo Bills wide receiver has found himself in hot water over a touchdown celebration familiar to wrestling fans. After successfully scoring against The Miami Dolphins on October 1st, Diggs ran over to the fans, grabbed a couple of beers and smashed them together just like The Rattlesnake.

While no one would have thought anything of it at the time, the NFL channelled their inner Vince McMahon a few days later and laid down the law to the Buffalo Bills player. It is reported by FOX Sports that Diggs was fined $13,659 for “Unsportsmanlike conduct.”

While Diggs is a fan of Stone Cold, there were no Stunners delivered to any higher-ups of the National Football League as a result of the punishment.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s Astronomical WWE Royalties

Being the biggest star in the hottest era of professional wrestling, Attitude Era fans were desperate to get their hands on any Austin merchandise that was available. Following the iconic “Austin 3:16” promo at the 1996 King of the Ring, one of the most famous wrestling t-shirts in history was created. In a recent interview, Steve Austin revealed that he has made over $10 million from merchandise sales alone.

Following one final match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38, it appears that Austin’s in-ring career has come to an end. One high-profile match that the former World Champion never got to have was against fellow Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. Back in May, Hulk Hogan stated that he was still open to facing Steve Austin in a retirement match at WrestleMania 40.
