Stone Cold Steve Austin Reveals The First Wrestler To Knock Him Out

Stone Cold Steve Austin opened up about a memorable incident from his career – the first time he was knocked out in the wrestling ring.

In an episode of his podcast, The Steve Austin Show, Stone Cold Steve Austin recounted the story of his 1998 SummerSlam match with The Undertaker, where an unintentional headbutt from his opponent caused him to be knocked out for a few seconds.

Describing the moment, Austin said:

I hit the ropes, Undertaker goes for a backdrop, I kick him in his chest, he’s going to straighten up and no-sell it, and when he does, the back of his big ass head hits me right under the chin. And, boom! Knockout blow.

Despite the temporary loss of consciousness, Austin quickly regained his bearings and continued the match.

Reflecting on the incident, Austin expressed disappointment that it occurred during what could have been a stellar match. He admitted that he doesn’t remember much of the rest of the bout, except for a memorable moment when The Undertaker executed a courageous leg drop from the top turnbuckle.

What Does Stone Cold Steve Austin Think About The Undertaker’s Retirement?

Stone Cold Steve Austin defended The Undertaker after he received some backlash from disappointed fans that Undertaker, whose real name is Mark Calaway, started tours and podcasts about his time performing as The Undertaker. Many fans believe that due to Calaway rarely appearing out of character during his wrestling career, he should have done so in retirement.
