Brie Bella has revealed that she intends to make a return to in-ring action.
The former WWE Divas Champion, who was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2020, has not been seen in the squared circle since competing in the Women’s Royal Rumble in 2022. Twin sister Nikki also entered the match that was eventually won by ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey.
Following the loss of Nikki Bella’s Divas Championship to Charlotte Flair at the 2015 Night of Champions pay-per-view, both Nikki and Brie took extended breaks from the ring, with both being effectively retired following WrestleMania 33 and 32, respectively.
The twins contracts expired in March 2023 and they announced their departure from wrestling to focus on other projects, renaming themselves as the Garcia twins in the process. Just two months prior the pair had been controversially left off of the 30th Anniversary of RAW, so the parting of ways was unsurprising when it arrived.
Brie Bella was recently asked about a potential return to the ring on Instagram and many were surprised at the former three-time Slammy Award winnner’s response:
“I will…waiting for Buddy to grow a little more. The great thing is there’s so many companies with great opponents!!! I’d loved to wrestle Saraya again, Brit Baker…..love to go wrestle Trin…Can’t wait to see her and Mickey in action…..first on my list is The liconics…wrestle them In Australia would be amazing!”
When her husband was asked about the possibility of his wife joining AEW, Bryan Danielson responded that Brie Bella wants to do it then “It’ll get done.”
Will The Bella Twins Return Full-Time?
Speaking during an interview with TV Insider in 2022, former Divas Champion Nikki Bella stated that is was unlikely that fans could expect a full-time return for the twins:
“We all had a lot of fun in the locker room after. I really missed it, but I’m in mom mode and things are different now. I was sore for a few days. I can’t lie. The show [Royal Rumble 2022] made me think about how we can come back and do more of a story.
Unfortunately, where we are at in our lives Brie and I can never be back full-time. We hope there is something soon or in the future that we can come back and do something. Just getting the taste in the ring made us want more.”
