CM Punk “Still Has A Ton Of Heat” In WWE

CM Punk Could Have A One Year Non Compete Clause

CM Punk’s rumoured return to WWE may not be as straightforward as first thought.

While the speculation regarding Punk appearing at Survivor Series in Chicago is getting stronger by the day, with the latest reports believing that it is “a safe bet” that CM Punk will make the appearance in November, some within the company are still mad about the events that took place almost 10 years ago.

As reported by Fightful Select, a lot of the heat on Punk stems from his walkout in 2014 the night after the Royal Rumble when things boiled over. The report goes on to state that if The Second City Saint will make a return it is believed that multiple people will be consulted about it to prevent the alleged infamous events from AEW repeating themselves a second time around.

Multiple Top Talent Asked About Their Thoughts On CM Punk Returning To WWE

One top star in WWE that Fightful spoke to said the following regarding some of the reports that surfaced about Punk’s alleged behaviour:

“He wouldn’t be able to pull any of his sh*t here. There’s nobody here he could jump without getting his ass handed to him.”

Another top talent is said to be doubtful that Punk will come back to WWE as Triple H “wouldn’t risk the negativity that Punk would bring,” but did note that other stars with baggage have also been brought back into the company. If Punk truly wants to come back to WWE, it is stated he will have to make amends with a number of talents who have influence.

Fightful has also spoken to a top star in AEW about the rumours, with one noting that before the infamous events took place at All Out 2022, Punk would frequently say how much he did not like Vince McMahon, Triple H or the company as a whole.

The report does reiterate that this is all currently speculation and that no one on the roster or the creative team has been spoken to about a surprise return in November. When asked about the teases that picked up steam on social media, these were not intended to hint at a Punk return at this time.
