Adam Cole returns to Dynamite

Adam Cole has nothing but nice things to say about Edge.

Speaking with Josh Martinez of the Superstar Crossover podcast, Cole was asked if he has ever interacted with Edge, to which Cole would describe how Edge would take time to help those in developmental.

“I did [have some interactions with Edge], and every single one of them [was] wonderful. So when I worked for NXT, there were some times where he would come down and talk to a group of us, give his input, give his mindset on things. He was just, again, aside from being one of the greatest to ever do it, just incredibly generous and giving. [He is] such a smart individual who really, really did want to pass along his knowledge. So yeah, he’s a wonderful, wonderful guy, and every experience I had with him was very positive.” [H/t to Fightful]

Will Ospreay posing in the ring in AEW

Will Ospreay has taken to social media to send a message to AEW’s production team ahead of All In.

On the August 23rd edition of AEW Dynamite Will Ospreay and Chris Jericho came face-to-face ahead of their highly anticipated clash at AEW All In.

During the confrontation Ospreay came out to the sound of his United Empire theme Zenith of God.

However, following the return of the Aerial Assassin at WrestleKingdom earlier this year Ospreay has begun using his now iconic Elevated theme once again.

Taking to Twitter, Ospreay would implore the AEW production team to make sure they play the correct theme at All In.

“Oi no heat @AEW production office, once again I don’t work there so I’m not mad, but same sense I don’t know who to talk to about this. But guys played the wrong music last night. Please ensure “Elevated” is played for Wembley.”

Major WWE Change Not Expected To Happen

WWE’s expansion of their NXT brand appears to be facing some setbacks.

Following the closure of NXT: UK, it was announced by Triple H that the opening of NXT: Europe would follow shortly after. However, nothing has materialised despite plans to open the brand by early 2023.

On an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked about NXT: Europe, as well as the rumoured NXT: India.

“They would want to do it. I don’t expect that to happen. One of the issues is they can’t really run shows there. That’s why the Indian talent, they brought to Orlando.”

“I could see them opening the NXT Europe thing, which by the way, was supposed to have been opened early 2023. When they got rid of NXT UK, it was early 2023 they were going to start Europe.”

“Now it’s not happening and it’s not gonna happen until after the merger. I’ve heard now the target’s 2024. But once they do that, I think it’s gonna be a while.” [h/t WrestlingInc]

He would go on to reveal that the reason the decision to re-sign is a difficult one not because of offers elsewhere but because of how perfect, his final match on Friday Night SmackDown in Toronto was.

During the tapings for AEW Collision Jack Perry would attempt to retire the FTW Championship only to be confronted and attacked by his former partner HOOK.

The match was then announced for AEW All In – HOOK vs Jack Perry for the FTW Championship.

The match is the 11th announced for All In with rumours of a match between Grado and Jeff Jarrett reportedly untrue (more on this later), it appears this may be the final match announcement for the show.

WWE

WWE Employees Fearing For Their Jobs

WWE Logo Money background

There is reportedly a sense of “doom and gloom” amongst current WWE employees as they fear for their jobs due to reports that WWE is looking to make cuts around the company following their Endeavour merger with the aim of saving around $50,000,000.

Endeavour’s takeover of WWE is set to be completed before the end of September, and the company will merge with UFC. A new company will be formed with representation from both Endeavor and WWE on the Board of Directors. The majority of the Board was recently confirmed — although it won’t include Triple H.

As the completion of the deal nears, it’s been reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that there’s a feeling of some doom and gloom among staff who believe they could soon be made redundant. The report notes that employees who aren’t in the production studios or directly involved with talent could soon be out of a job. One long-time employee noted that UFC and WWE won’t need separate travel offices and accounting departments.

AEW

Santana & Ortiz Make Their Shock AEW Return

Santana Returns To AEW

AEW continues to make headlines as we head towards Wembley Stadium and All In this Sunday.

On the go-home edition of AEW Dynamite The Blackpool Combat Club would find some new allies in the form of the retuning Santana and Ortiz.

This was Santana’s first appearance in AEW in over a year following a major ACL injury sustained during the second annual Blood and Guts match.

It was also the return of Ortiz who hasn’t been seen in AEW since the Face of the Revolution ladder match back in March earlier this year.

The duos return as a pairing is all the more surprising considering recent reports from their mentor Konnan that there had been a major backstage altercation between the two LAX members with them firmly not on speaking terms.

The pair would return to assist Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta in their brutal assault of Rey Fenix – designed to write the former AEW Tag Team Champion off TV ahead of All In after it was revealed he could not travel to the show due to reported Visa issues.

Santana and Ortiz will be teaming with The Blackpool Combat Club to take on former LAX teammate Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero Miero, Orange Cassidy and Best Friends in the returning Stadium Stampede match at AEW All In.

WWE Pays Tribute To Terry Funk

Edge

Edge Signing With AEW Becoming Increasingly Likely

Edge AEW

When it was announced that Edge would be taking on Sheamus in the final match of his current WWE contract speculation began running wild over ‘The Rated R Superstar’s’ future in wrestling and if he could become All Elite.

A report last week from Fightful Select revealed that those backstage in WWE would not be surprised to see Edge turn up in AEW with some even noting that it was in fact a “real possibility.”

It was then revealed by Edge himself that his WWE contract expires completely in September 2023 which appeared to killed off any rumours/speculation of Edge debuting for AEW all All In.

Speculation around Edge’s move to AEW then spread like wildfire last night when a new report from PWTorch revealed that Edge is “probably heading to AEW.”

The report also revealed that Edge had attempted to re-sign with the WWE however WWE were not prepared to meet Edge’s demands, leaving the two sides to an awkward stalemate.

Combine all this information with the news coming out of last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite that Christian has replaced AR Fox in the Casket Match against Sting and Darby Allin and all signs seem to be pointing to AEW becoming the new home of The Rated R Superstar.
