Adam Copeland Issued Challenge By Former Intercontinental Champion

Matt Cardona, former WWE Superstar, continues to express his desire to face Adam Copeland, known as Edge, in a dream match.

On October 22nd, Cardona took to X to answer fan questions, and when asked about his dream match with anyone from any promotion, he unequivocally named Adam Copeland. Their history goes back to their time in WWE, where Cardona gained prominence as one of the Edgeheads, alongside Curt Hawkins.

The Edgeheads were featured in the faction La Familia, which also included Edge, Vickie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, and Bam Neely. Over the years, Cardona and Hawkins have remained connected to Copeland. In fact, before Edge’s departure from WWE, Cardona hinted that the Hall of Famer had to wait for his return, suggesting a potential match between them.

However, Copeland’s career took a different turn as he signed with AEW and made his debut at AEW WrestleDream. Since then, Copeland has become a crucial full-time member of AEW’s roster.

Has Adam Copeland Ever Faced Matt Cardona?

Adam Copeland and Matt Cardona have never had a match against each other. They have teamed together on multiple occasions when both Curt Hawkins and Cardona were the Edgeheads.

Cardona departed WWE in 2020 after spending close to 15 years with the company. Copeland left WWE earlier this year, he initially signed with the company in 1996 and while he did retire initially in 2011 due to neck injuries he never went to work for another promotion until Copeland recently signed with AEW.
