Gunther Set To Miss All WWE International Events Until Mid-2024

Gunther & Imperium on entrance ramp

Gunther is unable to attend international WWE events for the time being.

The Austrian star has been a dominant force on Raw ever since being called up to the main roster in 2022. He has cemented his position in the company with a record-breaking reign of over 500 days with the Intercontinental Championship.

With Gunther being such a prominent part of Raw, his absence from Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 4th was notable. The reason for this has now been revealed, and it’s sure to be disappointing for international fans of The Ring General.

The star was recently interviewed by Austrian website Krone, and it was noted in the article that he is not allowed to leave and compete outside the US for the next six months, seemingly due to “strict residency regulations.”

Although this is bad news for fans outside the US, it is good news for Gunther’s wife, as the star admitted he had only seen her “for six days in October.”

As he was recently part of a tour of Germany, it seems that the restrictions have only begun recently, meaning that the star is set to miss at least one big show being held by the company as Elimination Chamber is taking place in Perth, Australia on February 24th, 2024.

Former Rival Believes He Is Destined For WrestleMania Match With Gunther

As well as being a record-breaking Intercontinental Champion, Gunther has also made history with another title, the NXT UK Championship. His almost 900-day run with that title was brought to an end by current NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov.

Now, Ilja Dragunov hopes to bring Gunther’s current reign to an end, and believes it is his destiny to face The Ring General at WrestleMania.

Bret Hart previously criticised Gunther’s performance at Clast at the Castle, to which The Ring General gave an honest response.
