Kenny Omega Reflects On Terrifying Match Experience: “Seeing The Footage Scares Me”

Kenny Omega Reflects On Terrifying Match Experience:

Kenny Omega opened up about the most gruelling bump he ever took in his career.

The incident occurred during a match in 2012 at the prestigious Budokan Arena for DDT. In an interview with A Music Blog, Yea?, Kenny Omega shared the details of the fateful match. He was facing his longtime friend and rival Kota Ibushi when he decided to go all out and push the boundaries of his performance. Omega received a top rope Frankensteiner from the top rope to the floor outside the ring.

Recalling the horrifying experience, Omega said:

It was 2012, I main event a match in Budokan Arena. I wanted to pull out all the stops, so there was this one move in the match where I took a Frankensteiner from the top rope to the floor. That was probably, to this day, the most shocking fall that I’ve ever had to absorb. You feel your insides bounce and hit the top of your rib cage. It was gross, and I would never ever do it again. Seeing the footage scares me.

The impact of the move left a lasting impression on Omega, both physically and mentally. He vividly described how he felt his insides bouncing and hitting his rib cage upon landing. The experience was so traumatising that Omega vowed to never attempt the move again.

Will Kenny Omega Sign With WWE?
