Keep up with all of tonight’s WWE SmackDown results as the show emanates from the WWE ThunderDome inside Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida with over three weeks to go till Fastlane!

The results from this week’s show were as follows:

  • Otis & Chad Gable defeated Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio via Pinfall (3:25)
  • Apollo Crews defeated Shinsuke Nakamura via Pinfall (6:00)
  • Tamina defeated Liv Morgan via Pinfall (3:55)
  • The Street Profits defeated Sami Zayn & King Corbin via Pinfall (8:05)
  • Daniel Bryan vs Jey Uso ended in a No Contest due to a Double Countout (12:50)

Roman Reigns addresses Edge’s WrestleMania decision, Daniel Bryan lays down Fastlane challenge

  • Roman Reigns makes his entrance as we see a recap of the SmackDown Elimination Chamber match, Bryan’s challenge and Edge’s WrestleMania declaration.
  • Reigns opens by saying that SmackDown and Elimination Chamber needed him so he answered the call. Reigns calls him beating Daniel Bryan ‘the most exciting a**-whooping of the year’. But Reigns says it wasn’t perfect because of Edge.
  • Reigns says that Edge got one up on him but offers him to back out, saying that a man like Edge simply doesn’t have a chance against a man like him before Daniel Bryan interrupts.
  • Bryan says he agrees with Reigns assertion that his defence was near-perfect but says he’s also heard from ‘certain people’ that defending the title directly afterwards was a cowardly move and that Reigns isn’t a champion at all.
  • Bryan recalls that he faced Reigns in his first main roster match and that there’s a lot of similarities between the two. To end the rumours, Bryan suggests a one-on-one straight up championship match with Reigns at Fastlane.
  • Jey Uso says Bryan’d need to go through the right-hand man, himself, before Reigns asks if Bryan really wants him to hurt him again. Uso assaults Bryan and throws him over the barricade to end the segment.
  • Before we cut to commercial, we see Edge confronting Sonya & Pearce backstage about Bryan challenging Reigns before him.
  • After commercial, we see Uso apologising Reigns for jumping the gun. Reigns says there’s nothing to apologise as long as the job gets done and for him to handle it.
  • We see Edge asking Sonya & Pearce about the tentative plans for Fastlane which was a tag between Edge & Bryan vs Roman & Jey. Pearce says the match fell into their hands and will only happen if Bryan beats Uso.

Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio vs Otis & Chad Gable

  • Rey comes out with his ribs taped up and Gable shows a replay of Otis assaulting Rey last week to cause the injury via a middle rope splash.
  • Otis dominates Rey early on with various suplexes and strikes before Gable tags in to continue the attack but Rey manages to fight him off long enough to tag Dominik. Dominik builds a comeback on Gable, hitting a tornado DDT for a near-fall.
  • Rey & Dominik manage to hit a double 619 followed up by a frog splash from Rey for another near-fall. Otis tags in and hits the middle rope splash for the win.

Winners: Otis & Chad Gable via Pinfall in 3:25

Apollo Crews vs Shinsuke Nakamura

  • We see a recap of Apollo’s attack on Big E last week. Apollo gets on the mic and says the fans don’t know anything about him because he’s been far too nice and humble for too long.
  • Apollo claims he’s a real African American and that he’s descended Nigerian royalty. His grandfather ruled with an iron fist and represented wealth, dominance and power. Crews says he went back to his roots and says Nakamura will suffer the same fate as Big E did before Nakamura interrupts.
  • Crews attacks him before the bell and almost drops the steps on him before the referee stops him and we cut to commercial.
  • We cut back to the match underway with Crews firmly in control. Nakamura regains control after flipping out of a German Suplex onto his knee before hitting Crews with a single leg dropkick. Nakamura gets a near-fall with a sliding knee strike but Crews retaliates with a trifecta of German Suplexes for a near-fall of his own. Nakamura hits a sliding rope-assisted german suplex but his feet are under the ropes during his pinfall attempt.
  • Nakamura locks in a sleeper hold but Crews grabs his scarf in the corner to drive Nakamura into the turnbuckle. Crews hits an enziguri into a variation of an Angle Slam for the win.
  • Backstage we see Heyman telling Roman that if Bryan defeats Jey in the main event, Bryan gets his Fastlane Universal Championship match and that Adam Pearce made the stipulation.

Winner: Apollo Crews via Pinfall in 6:00

Tamina vs Liv Morgan

  • The match is back and forth from the get-go with Liv using her athleticism to doge Tamina’s power moves. Tamina gains control after a superkick counter to a hurricanrana before hitting a splash into the corner for a near-fall.
  • Tamina continues dominating but Liv creates an opening with a step-up enziguri before following up with a middle rope dropkick for a 1-count. Tamina hits a Samoan Drop to stun Morgan before hitting a Tour Of The Islands-esque windup into an uranage to get the win.

Winner: Tamina via Pinfall in 3:55

Bianca Belair Selects Her WrestleMania Opponent

  • Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville are in the ring and introduce Bianca. Bianca recounts the exact amount of time it’s been since she won the Women’s Rumble and Sonya shows off two promo videos for Asuka and Sasha.
  • Bianca is about to make her decision before Reginald interrupts. Reginald says Bianca has worked hard to get to this position and she’s inspiring but if she decides to face Sasha Banks at WrestleMania, she will lose and be nothing but a loser before Sasha Banks interrupts.
  • Sasha tells Reginald to never speak for her and tells Bianca that she’s the best which makes Belair second best. Belair responds by selecting Sasha and telling her she’ll prove her wrong at WrestleMania.

The Street Profits vs Sami Zayn & King Corbin

  • Dawkins overpowers Zayn with ease, leading to Zayn scurrying away and tagging in Corbin. Corbin matches Dawkins’ power and tries for a his rebound lariat but Zayn’s documentary crew gets in the way. Ford tags in and Corbin takes control over him as we cut to commercial.
  • We cut back to Corbin continuing his dominance and he and Zayn tag in and back out. Ford eventually manages to tag out to Dawkins who build a comeback on Zayn, hitting a bulldog for a near-fall.
  • Dawkins throws Corbin out the ring but Zayn hits him with a DDT for a near-fall of his own. The documentary crew film Corbin but Corbin takes them down. This distracts both as Ford takes out with a tope con hilo.
  • Dawkins hits his arm-trapped double rotation neckbreaker before Ford follows up with From The Heavens to pick up the win.

Winners: The Street Profits via Pinfall in 8:05

Seth Rollins offers Cesaro a chance to Embrace The Vision

  • Rollins says his letter got a huge response on social media before Cesaro interrupts. Seth says there’s a lot they need to discuss as Cesaro enters the ring threateningly. Rollins says his attack two weeks ago was an accident and that him calling him a loser was blown out of proportion.
  • Rollins calls Cesaro a star and generally praises him before asking why he always seems to come up short. Rollins says Cesaro lacks killer instinct and that he can give it to Cesaro by Embracing The Vision.
  • Seth says Cesaro doesn’t have to answer now but Cesaro grabs him into an elongated Swing before following up with an uppercut. Cesaro leaves Rollins in the ring and makes his way up the ramp as Daniel Bryan makes his entrance.

Daniel Bryan vs Jey Uso – If Bryan wins, he challenges Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Fastlane

  • Uso immediately starts off aggressive, beating down Bryan with strikes but Bryan responds by working on Uso’s right arm. Bryan builds up momentum by hitting a running single leg dropkick into the corner followed up by the Yes Kicks in the corner.
  • Bryan hits a top rope hurricanrana for a near-fall and Uso rolls out of the ring. Bryan tries for a tope suicida but Uso connects with a superkick before driving Bryan into the announce table and ring post directly onto his injured leg from Elimination Chamber – We cut to commericial.
  • We cut back to Uso continuing his assault on Bryan’s injured left knee. Bryan tries for a counter into the Yes Lock but Uso delivers multiple strikes to Bryan’s knee in response. Uso hits a Samoan Drop for a near-fall before attempting the Uso Splash but Bryan dodges.
  • Bryan manages to throw Uso to the outside before hitting the middle rope-assisted missile dropkick followed up by a single leg knee strike from the apron to the outside. Both go back into the ring but Bryan’s knee buckles, allowing Uso to regain control.
  • Uso locks in a single leg boston crab but Bryan manages to roll out and kick Uso off. Bryan hits a roundhouse kick to the head for a 2-count. Bryan goes for the running knee but Uso counters into a chop block. He tries for another Uso Splash but Bryan catches him into an avalanche butterfly suplex.
  • Bryan tries to get the Yes Lock locked in but Uso gets to the rope and goes to the outside before Uso drives Bryan into the steel steps, causing both to be stunned long enough to both be counted out.
  • After the match, Reigns locks in the Yes Lock but Reigns attacks him. Bryan gets the Yes Lock on Roman for a split second before Uso breaks it up with a superkick. Roman hits a Spear on Bryan before locking in the Guillotine. The show ends with Reigns holding the Universal title over an unconscious Bryan.

Winner: No Contest via Double Countout in 12:50
