Becky Lynch has been credited for her amazing work ethic during her time at NXT.
For approximately 2 months, Lynch would regularly appear and compete on NXT TV and Premium Live Events after initially being provoked by Tiffany Stratton. Making an impact from the start, Lynch would defeat Stratton to become the new NXT Women’s Champion, capturing the one title that has alluded her throughout her historic career.
Despite being a full-time competitor on Raw, The Man would still make regular appearances on Tuesday nights, compete with the up-and-coming stars of the women’s division and headlined the No Mercy PLE, defeating Stratton in an Extreme Rules match in the main event. Becky Lynch would hold onto the title until late October when she would lose the championship to Lyra Valkyria at Halloween Havoc.
Shawn Michaels commented on Lynch’s time on the developmental brand during the media call ahead of NXT Deadline. Michaels praised Lynch for elevating the division and the show’s overall viewership:
“The biggest thing, it’s her serpent like nature that she brought. Becky Lynch is a huge star, she’s a WWE superstar through and through. She came down to NXT and made sure she wanted to lift up all the women, and NXT as a whole, down there. For me, the humility in which she went about doing that was just off the charts and that’s what I appreciated so much about her doing it. At no time, did Becky carry herself in any other way other than a humble, unbelievably professional, class young lady.
She did a great deal for us and it was good from a ratings standpoint. It was great professionally, just to get to work with. It was great creatively for us. Also, she did everything that she could to lift up our women’s division and to also continue to work with a number of the young ladies. She never once didn’t have time, whether it was getting in there physically or helping them verbally. That’s something that — again, people don’t have to do that, they choose to do that. The way she went about doing that was incredibly respectful to me.”
Will Becky Lynch Return To NXT?
Following the title loss, Lynch has been feuding with Damage CTRL, which included competing in a WarGames match at Survivor Series. While not ruling out a return entirely, Becky Lynch recently confirmed that her time in NXT has come to an end for now.
