Batista Reveals The Truth Surrounding Scrapped 2023 WWE Hall of Fame Induction

Batista Dave Bautista

Despite significant interest from both sides Batista is yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

The six-time World Champion had been due to be inducted in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused the ceremony to be postponed until 2021. However, by the time the ceremony rolled around the star was unable to attend and asked to be inducted at a later date.

Fast forward to 2023 and rumours swirled that the now Hollywood megastar would be inducted as WWE headed to Los Angeles. However, it was reported that the Guardians of the Galaxy star would be in South Africa filming a new movie called My Spy.

Speaking in a new interview with CoolKicks, Batista has now confirmed that he was indeed in South Africa and that WWE had again approached him about being inducted into the Hall of Fame. When asked whether he attended WrestleMania, the star said that he was unable to get there.

“No. I was in South Africa. I was supposed to go into the Hall Of Fame, but I was on this film I was committed to. I couldn’t get out of it,”

Batista Has No Interest In Wrestling Again

Batista hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Triple H at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. At the time the star was adamant that it would be his final match, but as history has shown, wrestlers treat retirement as nothing more than a passing phase, so rumours have continued that he could come back for one more match.

However, the man himself remains insistent that he won’t be back, calling his match with Triple H the perfect goodbye.
