Paul Wight Remembers Hilarious WWE Angle With Eddie Guerrero

Paul Wight [FKA The Big Show in WWE] looked back on a segment from 20 years ago that had a very messy ending.

Back in October 2023, The World’s Largest Athlete targeted Eddie Guerrero, who was reigning as the United States Champion at the time. Guerrero would get his revenge by setting a trap on the challenger. The Big Show would intercept a delivery of burritos for Guerrero, which were later revealed to be full of laxatives, forcing Show to leave the match early.

One week later Guerrero would further humiliate the former World Champion in front of thousands in attendance. While The Attitude Era had soakings from beer trucks and milk trucks, Guerrero would commandeer a sewage truck in the Ruthless Aggression Era angle. Unfortunately for The Big Show, the inevitable happened:

Speaking with Metro, the AEW star discussed how part of the wrestling industry is entertainment and how much fun he had with the angle:

“When you work with people that are genuinely that talented, if you just relax and open yourself and go with the jokes, it’s easy. It’s fun! And while you’re doing it, after you shoot it you’re dying laughing, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe I just did that!’ How many times can I slip on the septic truck when I got sprayed? You have fun with it! That’s part of being an entertainer, sometimes the magic happens when you let your own inhibitions go and just relax and have fun with it, enjoy it.”

Continuing the interview, Wight remembered Guerrero, who tragically passed away in 2005 aged just 38 years old:

“He was just so charismatic and so funny. He was so charmingly funny on TV, Eddie was. Even when he was trying to cheat, he was charming about it. He had that natural charisma and he really understood his character and how to make his audience happy. he was such a pro to work with,”

In regards to the rivalry, The Big Show would have the last laugh as he would defeat Latino Heat at the No Mercy pay-per-view to become the new United States Champion. The World’s Largest Athlete would hold the title until WrestleMania 20, where he lost to John Cena.

Wight recently competed in a Street Fight on AEW Dynamite as part of a promotional tie-in with Sega. When discussing his involvement in the AEW match, Paul Wight described what his role would be.
