MJF To Defend AEW World Title In Dream Match On Collision

MJF may not make it to Full Gear as AEW World Champion.

Having held the championship for 341 days, The Devil is less than a week away from breaking the record for the longest singular reign with the title. Confident that he will set a new benchmark in the company, MJF has repeatedly antagonised the wrestler who holds the record at 346 days, Kenny Omega.

With his record very much in danger and wanting to prove that he still is the best bout machine, Omega approached the World Champion on the October 25th episode of AEW Dynamite. Confronting The Devil at the top of the entrance ramp, Omega declared that he wanted a shot at the championship to have an opportunity to keep his record intact. The World Champion accepted the challenge of title vs. streak on the October 28th episode of Collision.

MJF Faces Multiple Challengers

The World Champion has become the interest of many members of the AEW roster. Needing to find 3 partners to take on Bullet Club Gold, Maxwell Jacob Friedman has already refused the services of The Acclaimed and Roderick Strong to face the faction. Samoa Joe would later also offer his services, but demanded an opportunity at the Triple B in return.

If the generational talent successfully retains the title against Kenny Omega on Collision, he will next face Jay White on November 18th at Full Gear. Not short on challengers, MJF has also been targeted by wrestlers from other promotions, with a NJPW star demanding a match at the Tokyo Dome in the near future.

Another championship match has also been announced for Collision, which will see Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida face the winner of Skye Blue vs. Willow Nightingale vs. Anna Jay vs. Abadon. The match will take place on the October 27th episode of Rampage.
