Will Ospreay Issues Warning To Top WWE Star: “You’d Drown In These Waters”

Will Ospreay Sets Sights On International Dream Match

Will Ospreay is considering his future, and a bout with one particular top WWE star has him intrigued.

With his NJPW contract set to expire in February of 2024, the current IWGP United Kingdom Champion is weighing his options about what to do in the future. Will Ospreay has made it clear in the past that IMPACT Wrestling is a potential destination for him, but speaking in a new interview with Metro, he also floated the idea of facing Seth Rollins in WWE.

Rollins and Ospreay have long been at odds on social media, and a bout between the two men would certainly make waves at the box office. Ospreay had this to say, indicating that Rollins isn’t as good as he claims to be.

“But now it’s time for me to really gauge and see what’s out there. So the Seth thing does intrigue me quite a lot. I heard him say in a promo, he’s 100% is the best in the world. ‘My 50% is the best in the world, so if you actually got me at 100% I think you’d drown in these waters mate.”

“I’ve Never Had The Machine Behind Me” – Will Ospreay

Continuing, Will Ospreay made it clear that he sees himself as one of the top stars in the world right now, and he believes he’s delivered enough in the ring to back up his claims despite not having the support of a big company behind him.

“While I can sit here comfortably and say I am one of the top wrestlers in the world right now, there is other things to learn. Do I have an ego about this stuff? Of course I do, look at the catalogue and look what I’ve delivered. I’ve never had the machine behind me. I’ve never had guys tell me to walk this way, talk this way, look to the hard cam at all times. I’ve always done things on my own, I’ve gambled by myself and everything I’ve ever done has been off my own back.”

While some may feel that a match between Ospreay and Rollins would never happen, a new update from Wrestling Observer Radio reveals that there is significant interest in The Ariel Assassin:

“I know WWE is absolutely after him and he is absolutely going to listen to WWE. WWE is very, very interested in him. Everyone is, and they should be.”

In a new report, Dave Meltzer noted that one of WWE’s ideas for Will Ospreay is to make him the face of an upcoming new brand!
