Will Ospreay Nearing WWE Deal

Will Ospreay Nearing WWE Deal

Will Ospreay joining WWE is still very much a possibility.

The Ariel Assassin was very vocal about his future in wrestling at the press conference ahead of New Japan Power Struggle, seemingly confirming that he will not be wrestling in Japan in 2024 once his contract expires. While many may have assumed that Ospreay will be a part of AEW next year due to his association with the promotion and having competed at multiple events, WWE has continued to show interest in Ospreay.

As reported by Fightful Select, while Ospreay to AEW seemed to be “a foregone conclusion” at one point, WWE have also made it clear that they would like the New Japan star on their roster in the next few months, showing “heavy interest” in Ospreay, with sources stating that there has been contact between both sides regarding the future. However, Fightful Select also state that those close to Ospreay are not as open about the nature of the negotiations.

WWE sources have revealed that “preliminary overtures” have been made towards Ospreay but would not provide an official comment regarding what these would entail.

Will Ospreay Teases WWE Move

Ospreay looks to play the biggest promotions in the United States against each other to secure the best deal possible. Along with wrestling in Impact and AEW in 2023, The Ariel Assassin confirmed that he was matching Crown Jewel on November 4th. Following the opening match between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre, Will Ospreay gave his reactions to the match and received a response from Seth Rollins.

Ospreay has been announced to face off against Jon Moxley and David Finlay at Wrestle Kingdom 18, where the winner will become the first holder of a new championship in NJPW as Ospreay’s IWGP UK Title was destroyed at Power Struggle.
