Keith Lee Breaks Silence Over Shocking AEW Debut

Keith Lee

After making a stunning debut on AEW Dynamite, Keith Lee took to social media to thank fans for welcoming him back.

Rumors began swirling after AEW President Tony Khan announced that a free agent would be breaking down the Forbidden Door and debuting on the February 9th episode of Dynamite to face Isiah Kassidy. Khan called the signing “huge for AEW,” and one of the names in the forefront of speculation was Keith Lee, whose non-compete clause with WWE recently expired after he was released from the company on November 4th.

Sure enough, the Limitless one made his grand entrance and was able to defeat Kassidy, guaranteeing him a spot in the Face of the Revolution Ladder match. The winner of that ladder match is guaranteed shot at the TNT Championship, so Keith Lee is already making waves in the company.

The crowd roared with adulation when Lee made his entrance, and responded well to the charismatic star during the match, which saw him toss Isiah Kassidy clear across the ring.

Taking to social media, Lee thanked the fans for welcoming him back so resoundingly, saying that while there is still work to do, he’s ready to put sad times behind him and focus on the future.

“We got a lot of work to do still. But I more than appreciate the warm welcome back. The person with the sign that had the same silhouette that’s on the front of my hoodie…. thank you. Touched my soul. And with sad family times hopefully behind me….let’s grind. #ForwardMarch

Keith Lee was not the only surprise debut on the show as New Japan star Jay White also appeared in a backstage segment featuring Roppongi Vice and the Young Bucks. His appearance seems to be stoking Bullet Club-related tensions between Adam Cole and the Young Bucks, as the Young Bucks pointed out that Jay White and Kenny Omega were once bitter enemies, but Adam Cole insisted that they can trust the Switchblade.

Keith Lee recently married long-time partner Mia Yim

It was a busy week for the Limitless one as he and fellow former WWE Superstar Mia Yim were married on February 5th. The couple were engaged nearly a year earlier on February 11th, 2021. WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley officiated the ceremony, and Lee recently took to social media to thank the former Dude Love for making their day a special one.
