AEW Executive Less Focused On Role

A member of the AEW behind-the-scenes team is taking a more hands-off approach to their role.

Megha Parekh was appointed as Chief Legal Officer for All Elite Wrestling when the promotion was created back in 2019. Parekh has served in the role whilst also being the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for the Jacksonville Jaguars, the NFL team owned by Tony Khan’s father Shahid Khan. According to a new report, Parekh appears to be focusing more on football and less on wrestling in the future.

As reported by Fightful Select, the Chief Legal Officer has “largely stepped back” from her role in AEW in recent months, with AEW General Counsel Chris Peck taking over most of the duties previously assigned to Parekh. The reason behind this is due to Parekh prioritising a new stadium deal for the Jaguars, shifting the focus away from matters related to wrestling. Fightful also notes that there has not been any word of a change in structure at this time or if Parekh will return to the role when the NFL deal has been finalised.

AEW Executive Not At Wembley Stadium

Parekh was said to have been at the scene of the infamous brawl that took place after All Out 2022, which led to The Elite and CM Punk being suspended for their actions. Fightful’s report concludes by addressing the incident that took place at All In back in August 2023 and the events that followed.

It is stated that Parekh was not present at the London pay-per-view and was not a part of the disciplinary committee which ultimately led to CM Punk being released by AEW.
