Jim Cornette Shares Praise For Darby Allin

Jim Cornette

Darby Allin is making sense to Jim Cornette.

The legendary wrestling manager is always outspoken in his criticism with AEW, but someone he didn’t disparage this week on the Jim Cornette Experience was Darby Allin.

Allin won the Royal Rampage battle royal on last Friday’s AEW Rampage to earn a shot at the TNT Championship at All Out. Following that, Darby cut a promo on “AEW Collision” before tagging with CM Punk against Ricky Starks and Christian Cage. Allin stated his intent and Cornette was impressed.

“Darby says he’s gonna become the new TNT Champion at All Out and he cut a good promo. Darby is coming out of his little shell, his cocoon, his coffin, whatever he was f*cking wrapped up in for all that time when he’s in front of people and he’s got something to work with. He suggested a tag team match and got the fans to want the match.”

Jim Cornette: “It Made Sense For It To Be That Way”

Despite his criticisms, Cornette has been adament in his praise for the likes of CM Punk and Ricky Starks. He believed pairing Allin with these two stars provided plenty of logic.

“Everything that has been said here amongst all these people fit and made sense and it wasn’t just like we’ve got a match, let’s send some guys to talk until we make it. It made sense for it to be that way.”

Allin may be making his way to All Out, but before that he’ll take on Swerve Strickland on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
