Vince McMahon's Heartless Reaction To Gruesome In-Ring Injury

WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas shared a chilling account of a harrowing in-ring injury and the callous response it received from Vince McMahon.

During an interview with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Atlas recounted a distressing incident involving Marty Jannetty, who, while teaming with Shawn Michaels as part of The Rockers, inadvertently injured Chuck Austin during a match in December 1990. The move, known as the Rocker Dropper, went awry due to Austin’s lack of training, causing him to land on his head and suffer a broken neck, resulting in immediate paralysis.

In a candid and revealing account, Atlas disclosed Vince McMahon’s heartless reaction to the gravely injured Chuck Austin. According to Atlas, McMahon callously ordered Austin to be removed from the ring, displaying a shocking lack of concern for the injured performer’s well-being. Recalling McMahon’s words, Atlas stated:

When Shawn Michaels and Mart Jannetty hurt that kid, yeah I was there and I remember Vince [McMahon] said ‘Get him out of the damn ring he’s holding up the show.’

Is Vince McMahon Still With WWE?

Vince McMahon is still involved with the WWE and is currently the Executive Chairman of the company that owns both WWE and UFC called TKO Group Holdings. TKO was created after WWE and UFC’s parent company, Endeavor, merged to create TKO.

However, following the merger, Vince McMahon was removed from his role as head of creative for WWE and was replaced by Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H. McMahon was said to still have some say but the major decisions are now in the hands of Levesque.
