WWE Chairwoman Stephanie McMahon has addressed her father Vince McMahon retiring from WWE on a quarterly earnings call.

On the 22nd of July 2022, the wrestling world changed forever when Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE. McMahon stepping away from the company he ran for forty years came amid an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct and hush money payments.

After previously stepping away from her role as Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie McMahon was announced as the new WWE Chairwoman. Stephanie McMahon will also be acting as the company’s co-CEO alongside WWE President Nick Khan.

Now speaking on a quarterly earnings call, Stephanie McMahon has addressed her father’s retirement while paying tribute to him:

“After more than 40 years of running WWE, my father Vince McMahon has retired. As a true founder and entrepreneur my father, and my mother for that matter, poured their heart and soul into building this business and taking it from a regional wrestling promotion in the 1980s to the global media enterprise we are today.”

“He built the foundation that WWE stands on and prepared us for the future. WWE and its Board of Directors have had succession plans in place and it is both a privilege and an honour to be leading WWE with my partner Nick Khan as co-CEOs and with Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, also my husband, leading our talent and creative.”

Stephanie McMahon also explained how, despite his retirement, Vince McMahon still “has his eyes” on the company’s business.
