Stephanie McMahon has claimed that retired Chairman Vince McMahon still has WWE business on his mind as he remains the company’s largest shareholder.

On the 22nd of July, Vince McMahon sent out a Tweet that changed the face of the wrestling world forever. The man who was at the helm of WWE’s rise into a global behemoth announced that it was time for him to retire from his role.

The announcement came amid investigations into McMahon over allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money payments to former employees.

There has been some conjecture as to Vince McMahon’s ongoing influence seeing as his replacements include his daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie McMahon, and Triple H. Reports suggest McMahon is not involved at all in running the company but Stephanie McMahon confirmed that her father still has an interest in WWE’s performance.

Speaking on a quarterly earnings call, Stephanie McMahon commented that Vince McMahon still “has his eyes” on WWE business in his role as the company’s biggest shareholder:

“Vince McMahon is still very much the controlling shareholder. He still has his eyes for what is best for our business in terms of maximizing return to our shareholders, of which he is the biggest shareholder.”

“Nick [Khan], Paul [Levesque], Frank [Riddick], and I remain focused on delivering the maximum results to our shareholders. We will properly evaluate any opportunity that comes our way with that lens in mind.”

Elsewhere on the call, Stephanie McMahon what was behind her leave of absence from WWE before she returned as Chairwoman and co-CEO.
