Long-Time NXT Star Being Considered For WWE Main Roster Call-Up

A long-time NXT star, who has captured several titles during their time on the black and gold brand, could finally be headed to the WWE main roster!

Tyler Bate is perhaps one of the longest-tenured members of the NXT roster. At just 19 years old, the British star made his NXT debut back in February 2017 and has periodically appeared on the black and gold brand ever since – becoming a full-time member of the NXT roster following the closure of NXT UK late last year.

Bate has found great success across both NXT and NXT UK over the years: Alongside Trent Seven as Moustache Mountain, Bate captured both the NXT and NXT UK Tag Team Championships and in turn, became the only tag team in WWE history to do so.

His singles career, however, is where he’s shone brightest. Bate has won the NXT United Kingdom Championship twice, inadvertently becoming both the belt’s inaugural and final holder in the process, as well as the NXT Heritage Cup.

More recently, Bate earned his spot in the NXT Deadline Men’s Iron Survivor Match earlier this week on NXT. Should he emerge victorious at the Premium Live Event tonight, he’ll be next in line for a shot at Ilja Dragunov’s NXT Championship.

WWE Is Considering Calling Up Tyler Bate From NXT

After almost seven years on what some consider to be WWE’s developmental brand, it appears Bate could finally be set to graduate. Dave Meltzer reports in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there has been talk within of calling up Tyler Bate to the main roster.

“There has at least been talk of Bate going to the main roster. His size isn’t particularly right for that but the size thing isn’t as big a deal now with Vince McMahon out of the picture and Paul Levesque being more open minded as to who can be a top star”
