Jim Cornette Offers Advice To Rising AEW Star Jack Perry

Jim Cornette on AEW

Jim Cornette has given some wardrobe advice to Jack Perry.

Perry recently turned heel on former ally HOOK, which would lead to the former Jurassic Express member defeating The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil via underhanded tactics and becoming the new FTW Champion.

Along with the change in attitude, Perry has also undergone a change in appearance. The former Jungle Boy was seen burying his old persona prior to the title match, now choosing to dress in orange to anger AEW announcer and former FTW Champion Taz.

Jim Cornette has analysed the new heel persona of Jack Perry during an episode of The Jim Cornette Experience. Cornette has stated that the arrogant change of character from Perry is working, but needs to make one subtle change to make it even better:

And here’s where I was gonna give the advice. He is better as a heel. He started the promo good, and I wrote they’re doing the Dominik bit. He needs to keep the sunglasses on and you’ve been saying this too. Every time he’s doing that promo. He looks like an obnoxious prick with the sunglasses on. He takes his sunglasses off to look the camera in the eye and he suddenly turns into a f*cking teenage kid again. He looks five or 10 years younger without sunglasses, keep them on.

And in this promo, yes, he’s got more oomph as a heel, he had more energy, sounded like he had more emotion. He needs to get more comfortable doing this because he was trying to cut a promo and at the same time, react with disdain to the people booing him. But the way he was trying to promo and then looking at the people, it looked like they were throwing him off. And they may have been a little bit.

Jim Cornette Is Positive Over AEW Segment

Cornette has criticised some of AEW’s booking decisions and match stipulations on his weekly podcasts, with Blood and Guts being one of the latest events to get blasted by The Midnight Express manager.
