WWE Legend Is “Probably Done”

WWE Hall of Famers wanting to have one more match is nothing new, but in July 2022 Ric Flair and Conrad Thompson took a completely different approach.

Instead of trying to land a match with the likes of WWE, or one of the bigger independents, Flair teamed with ‘The Podfather’ to promote a standalone event where he would get in the ring one more time. While Flair’s performance inside the ropes drew a mixed response, to say the least, the event as a whole was a financial success.

Fast forward 12 months and Goldberg, now a free agent, is also reportedly looking at promoting a retirement show/tour outside of WWE. Interestingly, shortly after this news broke, Thompson co-hosted an episode of Eric Bischoff’s 83 Weeks podcast looking back at Hulk Hogan’s self-promoted tour of Australia in 2009, which was co-produced by Bischoff.

This led some to wonder whether this was intentional and a subtle way of planting the seeds for Hogan to appear with his former WCW rival Goldberg. After all, much of the build for Flair’s last match was conducted across Thompson’s AdFreeShows podcast network.

However, this isn’t the case according to the man himself. Although Hogan has never fully closed the door on a retirement match, Thompson believes that the WWE Hall of Famer will never wrestle again.

Speaking to Nick Hausman on the Haus of Wrestling, Thompson stated that Hogan is “probably done.”

“Those are not connected,” Thompson clarified. “Hulk Hogan will not be wrestling Goldberg on any of those shows. I haven’t been in contact with Hogan, but I can assure you there will not be a Hogan vs Goldberg last match”

“I don’t think there’s any scenario where you see Hulk Hogan even holding a tag rope. No disrespect, he is my favorite. He’s the reason I’m talking to you. I was a little Hulkamaniac, that’s what got me into this. But, sure, I think he’s, he’s probably done. I think that’s fair to say.”

When Did Hulk Hogan Last Wrestle In WWE?

Hulk Hogan hasn’t wrestled a match of any kind since competing in a six-man tag team match for TNA at a live event in Manchester, England in January 2012. The star’s last match for WWE came six years earlier when he saw off Randy Orton has SummerSlam 2006.
