Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Challenges Goldberg To Retirement Match

Goldberg WCW Champion. World Championship Wrestling

Goldberg has been a free agent since the turn of the year, but that doesn’t mean that the veteran has retired.

In fact, the WWE Hall of Famer has insisted that he’ll be back in the ring for some kind of retirement match or short tour. The star is seemingly determined to go out on his own terms after a planned retirement match in WWE fell through, despite an agreement existing between himself and Vince McMahon.

It has since been confirmed that both Goldberg and Sting have been in talks regarding a major international event.

While Wardlow has spoken up about wanting to face the WCW legend, Ryback has now thrown his own hat into the ring. Posting on social media the former Intercontinental Champion said that he wants to face him in a retirement match.

Speaking in February, Ryback expressed his own desire to return to the ring having not wrestled since 2018.

“I will be cleared this summer to officially return to wrestling. I challenge @Goldbergin my return to a Retirement Match.”

Tony Khan Confirms Talks With Goldberg

During the post-Double or Nothing media scrum, AEW boss Tony Khan was asked about Goldberg potentially bowing out of the ring in AEW. While Khan didn’t want to give anything away, he did confirm that the pair had spoken and have a good relationship.

Many fans have speculated that the veteran could make a special appearance at All In at Wembley Stadium as a grand goodbye to wrestling.
