Multiple Ex-WWE Stars Being Considered For Goldberg’s Retirement Show

Goldberg

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is looking for a proper send-off from professional wrestling with a retirement match taking place at a supershow in Isreal.

His last match occurred on February 19th, 2022 when he faced Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier this year, he officially became a free agent following the expiration of his WWE contract. However, since his departure from the company, the former multi-time World Heavyweight Champion has expressed his desire to compete in several farewell matches as part of a retirement tour.

Talking during an appearance on 93.7 The Ticket, the WCW star spoke about the handshake deal he had with Vince McMahon about a farewell match in WWE before declaring he wants a proper end to his wrestling story.

The reason why these rumors are out there is because Vince McMahon and I had a handshake understanding that after the Roman Reigns match, I would have a proper retirement match.

That hasn’t come to fruition through them … and nobody puts a stamp on my career. Nobody tells me when I’m done. Period. End of story.

At the end of the day … I do believe that my character deserves a proper sendoff. And until that happens, I don’t believe I’m hanging them up. (H/T Wrestling Inc)

One place that cropped up as a potential destination on his farewell tour was AEW and during the Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, Tony Khan confirmed that he has had conversations with the star.

Further details of his retirement tour emerged last month when promoter Rick Bassman revealed he was in talks with him about a mega event taking place in Jerusalem and possibly featuring ‘Da Man’ headlining against Sting. Bassman stated:

Working on a date in Jerusalem, Israel for September of this year. And that would involve, potentially, both Goldberg and Sting.

Other Former WWE Superstars Are Also Being Considered For Goldberg’s Retirement Show

According to reports from Fightful Select, Sting isn’t the only ex-WWE star being talked about in competing at the Israeli supershow.

The report states that ECW original Rob Van Dam, former Intercontinental Champion John Morrison and Chris Masters are just of the names being touted to join the tour.
