The New Day Are Back In WWE

The New Day Are Back In WWE

On the August 7th episode of WWE Raw, The Viking Raiders issued an open challenge, and it was answered by none other than The New Day.

This marked the return of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to WWE TV after their respective absences. Kingston had been out since March due to an ankle injury that required surgery. He had not competed since February 24th when he defeated LA Knight on Raw. Woods, on the other hand, had been absent since the May 15th episode of Raw, where he lost to Dominik Mysterio.

The New Day, known for their exceptional tag team chemistry, demonstrated their skills once again. Despite being overpowered at times by The Viking Raiders, Kingston and Woods persevered and emerged victorious. This win added to their impressive track record as a tag team. The New Day has captured tag team gold a staggering 11 times on the main roster.

However, it’s important to note that The New Day is not back in its entirety. Big E, the third member of the group, remains sidelined due to a serious injury. In March 2022, Big E fractured his C1 and C6 vertebrae, and he is still in the process of recovering.

The return of Kingston and Woods was first reported by Fightful Select prior to their comeback and fans were thrilled to see them back in action. Prior to their return, The New Day had a brief run in NXT, where they even won the NXT Tag Team Championship in December 2022. However, their reign was short-lived as they lost the titles to Gallus at NXT Vengeance Day 2023 in a four-way match.

Will The New Day Win The WWE Tag Team Championship Again?

The New Day are not currently in the Tag Team Championship picture. However, The New Day are no strangers to championship gold, having previously held main roster gold 11 times and members Big E and Kofi Kingston have both captured the WWE Championship in their careers.

With their recent return to Raw, it seems likely that they will find themselves once again vying for the Tag Team Championship.
