WWE SmackDown star Grayson Waller can’t wait to perform in front of a hometown crowd.
Recent years have seen WWE expand their reach with even more international dates added. The next overseas Premium Live Event will be Elimination Chamber, which takes place in February 2024 in Perth, Australia. With WWE last hosting a major show in the country in 2018, the Australian wrestlers currently signed to the main roster have yet to perform on a Supercard in the country they grew up in.
Looking ahead to the upcoming PLE, Waller was interviewed by Adrian Hernandez to discuss the upcoming show. The Australian star was proud that fellow Aussies Rhea Ripley and Bronson Reed are doing well on Raw and explained why Elimination Chamber is so important to him:
“It’s been great seeing Rhea killing it. Indi is killing it. Bronson Reed is killing it. RAW’s got an Aussie flavor to it and I’m carrying it on my back on Fridays. I’m glad to see so many Aussie talents doing so well because the Australian wrestling talent has always been world class. People just haven’t seen it, so I’m hoping we get more over here.
For me, Elimination Chamber in a lot of ways is my WrestleMania. I’ve never been on a WrestleMania before. Obviously that’s a huge goal of mine for next year in Philly, but that Elimination Chamber show, that’s my show. I think when it comes to all the Australian talent, I rock the Australian flag on all my gear. I think I’m as Australian as it comes and I really want to perform on that show, in front of that crowd, in front of my friends, in front of that family. It’s extremely motivating.
Back in May 2023, WWE travelled to Puerto Rico to present Backlash. While the crowd was hot all night for the action, native stars such as Bad Bunny and Zelina Vega received a thunderous ovation. Waller is hoping that he will receive a similar reaction when he makes his entrance in Perth:
I know we saw Zelina in Puerto Rico and how much that meant to her at that moment. It’s cool that a lot of us are getting those opportunities to wrestle in front of our hometowns and not just do it on a live event, but do it on these big shows with these big moments and big matches.”
WWE Fan Attempts To Attack Grayson Waller
Waller has a unique talent for riling up wrestling fans both on the mic and on the internet, in particular Taylor Swift fans. While most have been able to shake it off or forget about it later in the night, a WWE fan at a non-televised event hopped the guardrail and attempted to attack Grayson Waller.
