Jim Ross Considers Bryan Danielson The Current MVP Of AEW

Jim Ross Aiming To Return To AEW Before All In

Jim Ross believes Bryan Danielson sets the bar for AEW.

The WWE Hall Of Famer had high praise for The American Dragon on the latest episode of “Grilling JR.” The focus of this week’s episode was Jim Ross exiting WWE back in 2013 and The Boomer Sooner can relate to the recent termination of CM Punk, who became the primary torch-bearer for AEW Collision. However, since Punk’s exit, Danielson has greatly taken the mantle as the main attraction and the ratings haven’t really missed a beat since there was an unofficial changing of the guard.

Ross tells co-host Conrad Thompson how much Bryan Danielson means to AEW.

“I think anytime Bryan Danielson’s in a feature to attraction, it’s something to look forward to. So I would say he’ll set the bar, he meaning Bryan Danielson. So he’s red hot, man. He’s red hot, and his match with Zack Sabre Jr. should be textbook. The whole show is loaded with some really good talents who are looking to turn a head or two. So it’s gonna be fun in Seattle.”

Jim Ross Calls Bryan Danielson The MVP Of AEW

It can always be a debate as to who is invaluable to the success of AEW. The exit of Cody Rhodes in 2022 felt like the company took a major gut-punch, but an argument could always be made for Chris Jericho, who greatly played the “Terry Funk in ECW” role for the promotion as it first got its start. However, Jim Ross admires what Danielson has done so far for the promotion as it moves forward in a new era.

“He’s probably the most valuable player in AEW right now, at least in my opinion, not that we don’t have other MVPs. He’s really taken up a huge role, a leadership role. And that’s why I’m so blessed to be on Collision. That’s Bryan Danielson’s show. And it’s great because he brings maturity and ideas, a spirit de corps.

“He’s very, very important to everything that we do on Saturday night, especially. Bryan is really one of the best. I don’t know who’s a better worker in the world than Bryan Danielson right now. We’re lucky to have him and I love him to be around. We talk every Saturday.”

Danielson is set to take on Zack Sabre Jr. this Sunday at WrestleDream.
