Jim Ross Tips Dolph Ziggler To Return To WWE

Dolph Ziggler prepares for his opponent

Jim Ross believes Dolph Ziggler could land back in WWE.

On September 21st Ziggler was released by WWE bringing an end to his 19-year run with the company. Due to his longevity, adaptability, and consistency, many expected the former World Champion to remain with the sports entertainment giant for the rest of his career.

However, it’s since been reported that Dolph Ziggler had previously been talked out of leaving.

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross gave his thoughts on the latest round of releases which also included Mustafa Ali and Shelton Benjamin among others.

Despite Ziggler being released, Ross said it wouldn’t surprise him to see the star return to WWE in a different role.

“I don’t know if it is primarily going to be gone for WWE. Once the dust settles, and you start thinking about roles that he could fulfil, and there are many, not just wrestling, but you know, I listened to somebody maybe some busted open or something the other day that they’re talking about Dolph and he might be a mind for a role much like Adam Pearce is on Raw. And if that’s the case, and he’ll do a great job, ZIggler was a star. And you don’t just cast stars to the side.

So I’m predicting that Ziggler gets back in back in the game with WWE in some role, but a different role than wrestling. So he’s a great talker. He’s got a great appearance, he looks good. A smart kid, always been very respectful to me. I remember when Jerry Brisco was recruiting him. You know, he was a really good amateur. And that’s kind of one of the things we’re looking for was strong amateurs who have good work ethic and all that good stuff. So he’s a talent. And I don’t think that talents like him come along that often.

So therefore, and knowing how smart Triple H is. They may find a role for Dolph that is just perfect for him at this point in time in his career. So a good guy, somebody, he could help a lot of companies, no doubt about it. And i know he has other interests too. And he enjoys doing his comedy shows and things of that nature. So I’m a big Dolph Ziggler fan. I hope that he has nothing but success in his career. He deserves it. He’s earned it. And I’m just excited to see where he’s headed next.

When Did Dolph Ziggler Join WWE?

Dolph Ziggler had something of a stop-start beginning to his WWE career, which began all the way back in 2004. A year after joining the company the star arrived on the main roster as Chavo Guerrero’s right-hand man, before becoming part of the Spirit Squad. However, come 2007, the would-be World Champion was moved back into WWE’s developmental system.

After moving back to the main roster, Ziggler went on to become a Money In The Bank winner, World Champion, multiple-time United States, Intercontinental, and World Tag Team Champion, as well as NXT Champion in 2022.

Following on from the release, Dolph Ziggler’s first independent match has been announced.
