Tony Khan Breaks Silence On Cash Wheeler’s Arrest Ahead Of AEW All In

AEW‘s Founder, Tony Khan, had previously chosen to stay quiet regarding Cash Wheeler‘s arrest. However, as the countdown to All In approaches with under a week remaining, he has now addressed this matter.

Cash Wheeler is set to team with Dax Harwood at AEW All In, as the duo look to defend their World Tag Team Championships in a showdown against the Young Bucks.

The dream match has wrestling fans very excited, but for a short period, it looked like it wouldn’t happen. On August 18th, 2023, Cash Wheeler was charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm, casting uncertainty over the prospect of the match taking place.

In a media scrum yesterday, Tony Khan was asked about Cash Wheeler’s situation. Wheeler’s arrest was the first point addressed at the media scrum. When talking about FTR vs. The Young Bucks, Tony Khan said the following;

“As for things that have happened outside of the ring, I can’t comment on the specifics at this time because I still don’t know everything.”

“We’re still learning facts. Based on the information we have at this time, we’re still keeping an eye on that situation.”

“At this time, I think it’s a very inconclusive situation. It differs from other times where we’ve come in and weighed in or acted on a situation based on the evidence because, in this case, with everything we’re looking at, I don’t think we have those facts right now.”

“At this point, I think it’s rather inconclusive. I do very much look forward to the match and we’ll keep an eye out throughout this weekend and as long as it’s a pending situation.”

A follow-up question later in the media scrum touched on how long Tony Khan had known about Wheeler’s trouble with the law. Khan didn’t avoid addressing this inquiry either, revealing that he had only recently become informed about the situation.

“Because of the nature of it, I’ll be honest, it’s not like I’ve known for a long time, but on the other hand, I have tried to gather all the facts and information.”

“I still think we don’t have all the facts here. I don’t want to comment too much on the situation, but we’re still gathering information and that’s what I’ve been trying to do for several days.”
