Bret Hart Reveals What He Thinks About Former U.S. President Donald Trump

Bret Hart opened up about his encounters with former U.S. President Donald Trump at WrestleMania IV in 1988 and WrestleMania V in 1989.

In an interview with Forbes, Bret Hart fondly recalled his interactions with Trump, describing him as friendly and accommodating. During WrestleMania IV, Hart had a memorable encounter with Trump. He recalled Trump enjoying the WrestleMania IV battle royal and being surprised by Hart’s ability to withstand a hard front turnbuckle bump without serious injury.

Backstage, Trump greeted Hart with a smile and a handshake. Impressed by Trump’s demeanour, Hart asked if he could take a photo with his dad, himself, and his tag team partner Jim The Anvil Neidhart. Trump graciously agreed and even allowed them to take multiple shots. Hart expressed his admiration for Trump, stating:

Backstage, Trump gave me a big smile and a handshake. A few minutes later, I asked him if he could pose with my dad, myself and the Anvil for a photo. He was very nice about it, even allowing us to take several shots. I liked him.

The following year, at WrestleMania V, Hart and Trump crossed paths once again. To Hart’s surprise, Trump remembered their previous encounter and asked about the photo they had taken together. Trump even offered to take another photo, which Hart gladly accepted. Hart commended Trump for his kindness and remarkable memory, saying:

He was always nice and had a long memory. I held him in high regard.

Bret Hart spoke about his experience at WWE’s Clash at the Castle event and how he was embarrassed to be there, Hart stated that he saw children in the audience slapping their legs as wrestlers performed kicking spots and Hart was mortified that the audience was in what he called a “big giant charade.”
