Kairi Sane Breaks Silence Following Reports Of WWE Return

KAIRI

Following news of an imminent WWE return, KAIRI has made an announcement on social media.

On August 5th, PWInsider reported that the Japanese star has “come to terms with WWE” about a return to the company. Going further, they noted that her return could come as early as next week.

Dave Meltzer later corroborated the story on Wrestling Observer Radio, although he believes November is a more likely date for the Pirate Princess as she still has two further matches in Japan.

“Maybe November. She’s got two more dates in Japan I think she is scheduled for…she’s coming back.”

Now, the former, and possibly future, Kairi Sane has increased the speculation, announcing that she will hold a press conference on August 7th.

“Hey, guy! It’s KAIRI. I want to tell you something. I will have a press conference tomorrow and will be streaming on YouTube right after. Thank you so much. KAIRI.”

Following the post, KAIRI made a surprise appearance for All Japan Pro Wrestling, announcing that she will be competing for the promotion on September 6th when she teams up with Sari Anou to face Unagi Sayaka and an as-yet-unnamed partner.

Where has Kairi Sane been since leaving WWE?

Since departing WWE in December 2021, sane has mainly been wrestling for STARDOM in Japan as well as making several appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

In November 2022, she became the inaugural IWGP Women’s Champion and successfully defended the title at NJPW’s biggest show of the year, Wrestle Kingdom 17. She then defended the title against another former WWE star, Mercedes Mone, who defeated her for the gold at Battle in the Valley.

Meanwhile, in STARDOM, she won the Artist of STARDOM Championship for the fifth time, this time with Natsupo and Saori Anou.
