WWE NXT Stars Expected To Make Imminent Main Roster Return

According to a new report, two WWE NXT stars are headed back to the main roster as of the December 15th episode of SmackDown.

Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza began teaming together in 2021 and were moved to SmackDown as part of the Draft. Competing as Los Lotharios, the duo was featured briefly before sliding down the card and disappearing from view. Despite moving to Raw as part of the 2023 Draft, their main roster fortunes didn’t see much change.

However, in June of 2023, Garza and Carrillo made a shock appearance in NXT, attacking Scrypts and Axiom after they successfully defeated Dabba Kato in a Handicap Match. Later in the show, they were seen watching the action from a platform, before cutting a promo declaring that they were there to be part of the tag team division.

In August, NXT aired a vignette showcasing their family history in wrestling, featuring the late Humberto Garza Sr. providing the voiceover. Garza Sr. stated that no matter what there will always be family as clips of the cousins fighting played over the audio. The video indicated that it was time to say goodbye to the gimmick of Los Lotharios, and the pair have been more serious in their tag team presentation in recent months.

Reports at the time of their repackaging indicated that WWE had long term main roster plans for Garza and Carrillo.

Humberto Carrillo And Angel Garza Making Their Way From WWE NXT To SmackDown

Now, according to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the duo is headed back to SmackDown on December 15th. Johnson writes:

“Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo, who have been working WWE NXT for some time, are expected at tonight’s Friday Night Smackdown taping in Green Bay, Wisconsin, PWInsider.com has learned.

We are told there had been some pitches for the team to get involved with the Santos Escobar vs. LWO feud.

Stay tuned.”

It remains to be seen whether this will mark the end of the duo’s time in NXT as cross-pollination between the brands has become increasingly common in recent months. Dragon Lee, Carmelo Hayes, and Dominik Mysterio are among those stars who have appeared in both NXT and on the main roster as of late.
